Mbaye Khouma, Managing Partner

… is a senior business development strategist with over 20 years  of successful top management experience. He has worked within key multinationals such as Nestlé, Coca-Cola, and Bharti Airtel. He has also worked in Economic Development as part of the founding team of the Senegalese Investment Promotion Agency (APIX).

In the area of Private Public Partnership, he worked for NetMark (USAID funded program), to involve the private sector in supporting the Roll Back Malaria (RBM) strategic framework. A comprehensive partnership involving nets manufacturers, insecticide industries, and Health and Customs authorities led to the creation of a commercial market for insecticide treated bed nets in West Africa.

Mbaye’s current main interest is Public Private Partnership frameworks, for sustainable community reconstruction, in post conflict areas through jobs creation and revenue generation. He has lived in nine African countries before being established in South Africa and Gabon. 

 

 


Markus Koerner, Managing Partner

.. has been working across Africa for more than 20 years. He is an experienced programme and project manager, specialising in innovative public sector work, with a focus on peace and security, governance development and urban management. A second strand of his expertise is management advisory, with a focus on strategy, communication, project management, performance management and management systems development (including IT). Markus has worked in more than 20 African countries, and more than 30 countries world-wide. He has published two books, on social development in West Africa and on Project Management, respectively – the latter one being much acclaimed – as well as numerous articles. From 2010 to 2013 he was the founding Director of the Africa Peace and Security Programme at the Institute for Peace and Security Studies of Addis Ababa University and was driving force behind the establishment of the continent's premier conference on security, the annual Tana Forum (www.tanaforum.org).

 

 


 Batseba Seifu, Programme Manager

...hails from Addis Ababa and spent 14 years in the United States, including New York City. The backbone of her professional career is project management. During and after her studies, she gained professional experience working for various organizations, among which are Pricewaterhouse Coopers and The Nature Conservancy. She has also become an expert in conflict management training delivered by way of e-learning.  She received her Masters degree in Public Administration from New York University, where she earned Public Service Award and Foster McGaw Scholarships. She earned her Bachelors degree from Central Washington University.

 

 


Mewded Yelewosen, Programme Manager

… has been working in international event management in the various African Regions for over 5 years. Born and raised in Ethiopia, she is fluent in English and French as a result of her attendance in Lycee Guebre Mariam, an international French school in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

She then obtained her BA Degree in Business Management from the University of Poitiers (France), and the Addis Ababa University College of Commerce (Ethiopia), where she graduated with merit. During and after her studies, she gained professional experience from various organizations in various industries, including Ernst & Young, PTA Bank and Plan International.
